“Amazing food! ”

Popped in for a glass of wine and some food on a Friday evening. Hadn't booked; staff were so friendly, food was to die for (prawns, crayfish, pizza), the wine list was great and all affordable. This is high quality standard stuff! I'll be back within the next few weeks for sure- and with friends!

Met a friend for lunch here. Friendly greeting from the Landlord, and as we said wanted to eat, served us drinks and told us to chose a table, menus on table and our order would be taken. Quite happy to run a tab which was nice so you can pay at the end of your meal. We both ordered the fresh cod and chips which was cooked beautifully, with a very light batter and the chips were wonderful. We chose the special pudding of the day, toffee apple cheese cake. It was well presented, just the right size and at the perfect temperature! Finished with tea and coffee. Would also mention the real ale, had a lovely beer from Cornwall. Also the pub has been refurbished, very pleasant, without losing its character. We were impressed and will return.

Nobby's Lobby, I am not being rude its a lovely type of food, slow cooked beef casserole (stew) with added veggies at the end, just like your Mum used to make. A very pleasing village Pub with a good menu choice with particularly good home cooked either steak or fish pies. There is something to suit and please everyone and if its just a snack then you can have Tapas and a drink. There is Pedigree on tap. The Hosts are very accommodating and judging by the amount of 'regulars' visiting then you can't go wrong. Thoroughly recommend a visit. 10/10

Recommended by landlady at butter cross b+b. On entering we were greeted by the landlord which was nice, we asked if we could have meal and pay by card as we had been driving all day and there did not appear to be a cash machine in the village, no problem there. I was intrigued that the signature dish was "pie". I was not disappointed, it was very very good and came with a side order of chips which I could not unfortunately finish as they too were cooked to perfection, as the propotion of the said pie was large but unleaveable! The beer was crisp and refreshing. We had a chat with the landly who came to check all was well. They have recently refurbished the premises and it's a very pleasant pub. Value for money was good and the service exemplary. I will definitely go back, next time for a weekend.

The Coach and Horses is a great pub/restaurant set in a lovely village location. The menus are varied and interesting, with a tempting specials board. We visited recently to celebrate a special birthday and the food was just first rate. The "prawns pilpil" and "scallops, prawns and chorizo" were a huge hit with our party, as were the steaks and enormous mouthwatering pies. The food says homecooked and it actually tastes like it! We enjoyed it so much we have just returned for a sunday lunch and, again, we were not disappointed. The lunch was fab, lovely fresh veg, generous slices of meat and all the trimmings. Perfect. Also must mention the staff. Everyone is genuinely lovely, so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Can't wait for next visit!

It would be fair to say the homemade fish pie is the nicest I've ever tasted and I will certainly be recommending it to my friends and family as I will the place..The coach and horses really stands out set in a beautiful Staffordshire village, it's quirky original features and friendly warm welcoming atmosphere is so inviting.!The food is amazing and affordable and the beautiful tempting home made desserts are such a tease!!The owners and staff are friendly and can't seem to do enough for you.The coach and horses comes highly recommended, and I can vouch for that! Will I be going back?...have already rebooked! :-)

We visited the newly refurbished restraunt for sunday lunch, we were not disapointed. The roast was first class, very hot and plenty to go round. Obviously we have booked to go there again. The staff were very friendly and helpful without being pushy. The restraunt has been very tastefully refurbished and other facilities were spotless. As we were sitting there the restraunt was filling up nicely so we are not the only ones who know thier secret. Well done

We booked to come last week but unfortunately had to cancel due to illness. The guy I spoke to in the phone was really understanding and it wasn't a problem to change dates. We arrived and were welcomed at the bar a shown which table we had been allocated. We got drinks and went over to our table in the restaurant. The waitress serving us was very charming and professional. We chose two starters and shared both, nachos and garlic bread. Both were lovely. I had a pizza for my main and my partner had the pie. No the were great and good quality. We chose not to have pudding as we were both very full from the good portion sizes you receive. Overall we really enjoyed our visit here and will definitely return. My only comment would be that the menus looked a little cheap. I don't like the pictures or font selected. It looks a little bit like a little chef or a chain pub menu. Food was great though and service fantastic too.

We made our first visit to this lovely pub yesterday and will definately be going back. Food was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. Drinks were served in lovely glasses which made it feel a bit special. Hope everyone enjoyed the Greek night they were preparing for. Wish we could have joined you. Thank you all.

Went here after reading all the positive reviews on trip advisor.Lovely little village, the Coach & Horses exactly how you would expect a traditional country pub.Staff were very polite and efficient. My colleague & myself both ordred beef and stilton pie along with mash, it also came with veg and extra gravy. The meal was really nice, the pie obviously home made, very tasty and enjoyable. Will definately visit again when in the area.
